Freelance - Food Safety Trainer

Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Freelance Food Safety Trainer to develop and deliver training programs focused on food safety and hygiene. The Freelance Food Safety Trainer will be responsible for creating engaging training materials, conducting interactive training sessions, and providing support to participants seeking certification in food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, hygiene practices, and industry-specific requirements, as well as experience in adult education and training delivery.

 

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:

  •         Develop comprehensive training curriculum covering food safety regulations, HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) principles, hygiene practices, allergen management, and foodborne illness prevention.

  •         Create engaging training materials, including presentations, videos, case studies, quizzes, and practical exercises, to support learning objectives.

 

Training Delivery:

  •        Facilitate interactive training sessions, workshops, and seminars on food safety topics for diverse audiences, including food handlers, supervisors, managers, and other food industry professionals.

  •        Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and delivery methods, such as lectures, group discussions, hands-on activities, demonstrations, and role-plays, to enhance learning outcomes.

 

Certification Preparation:

  •         Prepare participants for food safety certification exams accredited by Highfield or other recognized certification bodies.

  •        Cover key concepts, regulations, best practices, and exam strategies to help participants pass certification exams with confidence.

 

Regulatory Compliance:

  •         Ensure that training programs comply with relevant food safety regulations, standards, guidelines, and industry-specific requirements.

  •         Stay updated on changes in food safety regulations, emerging risks, and evolving best practices, and incorporate new information into training materials and delivery.

 

Hands-On Learning:

  •         Provide opportunities for participants to apply food safety principles and practices in real-world scenarios through kitchen simulations, food handling exercises, sanitation inspections, and mock audits.

  •         Offer feedback, coaching, and guidance to help participants develop practical skills and competencies in food safety management.

 

Assessment and Feedback:

  •         Assess participant learning outcomes through quizzes, assessments, practical exercises, and performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.

  •        Monitor participant progress and measure learning outcomes to ensure training objectives are achieved.

 

Continuous Improvement:

  •         Stay abreast of the latest trends, developments, and innovations in food safety management, HACCP implementation, and hygiene practices.

  •        Incorporate new insights, tools, and techniques into training programs to enhance relevance, engagement, and effectiveness.

 

Requirements:

  •         Highfield certification as a Food Safety Trainer or equivalent qualification recognized by Highfield.

  •         Proven expertise in food safety regulations, HACCP principles, hygiene practices, allergen management, and foodborne illness prevention.

  •         Strong background in adult education, instructional design, or training delivery, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate learners of all levels.

  •         Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment.

  •         Experience developing and delivering food safety training programs in food service, hospitality, catering, retail, or manufacturing industries.

  •         Proficiency in creating training materials using multimedia tools, e-learning platforms, and interactive technologies.

  •         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess training needs, design customized learning solutions, and measure training effectiveness.

  •        Self-motivated and able to work independently, with excellent time management and organizational skills.

  •        Flexibility to accommodate varying schedules and deliver training sessions on-site or remotely as needed.

 

Education:

  •         Bachelor’s degree or higher in food science, nutrition, public health, hospitality management, or a related field.

  •         Additional certifications or training in food safety, adult education, or training delivery is Mandatory.

  •         Highfield Level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety In Catering (RQF) certification is required.

 

Location:

  •        Inspire Management Training Centre, with occasional travel for on-site training sessions as required.

Note: This is a freelance position with flexible hours and project-based assignments. Compensation will be based on experience and scope of work.
